Barra de Mundau
See on Google Earth
Water:
Every 6 hours it's starting the change of tides. Perfect flat water, the difference with low tide and high tide makes the place a different spot. Basically it's a river sneaking its way to the sea, in low tide there is a big area to ride that in high tide becomes enormous. It's possible to ride perfect flat water until meeting the sea and some breaking waves. Once on the sea, right behind the river there's a bay that offers almost perfect flat sea water.
Beach:
White sand, lots of space to launch.
Weather:
Sunny and warm, water 30°C and air 35°C.
Wind:
It turns from offshore to sideoffshore in the river and on the northern tip of the bay, in the other side is sideoffshore and in the second bay after the river again sideoffshore. No problem in the river/lagoon. In August the wind is very strong. Gusty winds.
How to get there:
Get to Mundau, about 2hrs drive from Fortaleza, and find the river to the west.
