Water:

Clean, perfect flat. It´s the river meeting the sea, the barra has being closed, therefore it´s a lagoon of 100x150m. Be careful with stones in the water who have very sharp shells on it. It's recommended to wear shoes.

Beach:

You can ride the lagoon or the sea as a sand beach of 50m wide separes them, there´s no problem for launches as there´s nobody there except on weekends but only at the downwind side of the lagoon.

Weather:
Sunny and warm, air 30-35°C and water 30°C. Rainy season from February to June. So expect rain showers during the day, but still has lots of sun.

Wind:

Winds are side to maybe slightly sideonshore at the beach, on the lagoon, no problem. Almost wind every day from July to January. February to July about 65%. Forces are normally good for 10-14 sqm kites. Strongest winds in August to October.

How to get there:

Icarai is 25km from Fortaleza. Drive from Fortaleza through Icarai and see on the right side the lagoon when crossing a bridge. Turn right after the bridge and best launch is at the beach.

Rules & Restrictions:

On weekends can be locals sunbathing and/or swimming on the northern side of the lagoon, better try working days as the lagoon is not too big, to avoid possible accidents and acces restrictions. Be very careful with the stones with shells in the water, they are very sharp. Make sure to wear shoes if kiting there.

Nightlife:

Great nightlife in Fortaleza.
