Water:
Big lagoon, 2-3 hours before lowtide the water gets totally flat due to a sandbank in front of the coast. Huge area! Outside the sandbank small waves. Good for beginners and experts as well. It's also possible to surf in the rivermouth. Watch out for the current in the river.
Beach:
Big beach, not crowded, no obstacles, no shells, no rocks.
Weather:
Warm water all year round. Shorts and rashguard for sunprotection is enough. Air 25-30°C all year.
Wind:
Daily wind. Most used kitesizes 12-16 sqm. In the morning sideshore which turns at the afternoon to sideonshore. Gets often stronger one hour before sunset. During night strong. Windy season from mid July until January. February to June in 2005 +-50% wind.
How to get there:
From Canoa Quebrada by buggy or 4x4. From CE 040 until Fortim and then to Barra. Afterwards 5 minutes to walk. Or access to the beach by 4x4 or buggy.
Rules & Restrictions:
Respect the fishermen.
